An effective personal trainer must be an exceptional teacher. They must have a thorough and layered understanding of fitness and be able to communicate this. They must be sensitive to the communications, both verbal and nonverbal, of their client, and have the skill to know when and when not to push. As a trainer, I strive to be an excellent teacher and to establish a series of successful, yet progressively challenging, client training or rehabilitation experiences. Building confidence in exercise is as important as it is in every other area of our lives.
I offer interested first time clients a free consultation at the Santa Fe Spa.
I personally know first hand about the challenges of injury and surgical rehabilitation, and often collaborate with client’s physicians and physical therapists.
As an American Council on Exercise Certified Personal Trainer for over 19 years, I feel strongly that exercise should be challenging yet, I insist that it not be drudgery.
Other certifications are: The American Senior Fitness Association; YMCA --- Get Real Weight Management Instructor; Arthritis Foundation Aquatics Instructor; YMCA --- Strength Training Instructor
